The Benefits of Green Tea

You can’t open a magazine today without seeing articles extolling the benefits of Green Tea. It’s everywhere, and for good reason. Research is continuing to build showing the remarkable benefits green tea can have on our health, but it has to be the right green tea. You see, not all green teas are created equal.

It’s all about EGCG, or epigallocatechil gallate, a very powerful anti-oxidant with some very encouraging and remarkable effects on a person’s overall health. Many high quality studies are finding very encouraging results of consuming green tea that sound almost too good to be true. Recent studies have found green tea and EGCG to, amongst other things:

Ø       Helps reduce cholesterol and improves cardiovascular function
Ø       Fight cancer, especially colon cancer
Ø       Aid in weight loss
Ø       Fights diabetes
Ø       Benefits Alzheimer patients and mental function
Ø       Fights tooth decay
Ø       Studies have shown EGCG to be a potent inhibitor of the flu virus (yes, including H1N1).
Ø       In Japanese populations, green tea consumption has been linked to longer life, especially in subjects drinking five cups or more daily over many years.

However, to get enough of EGCG and the other beneficial polyphenolic compounds, you’d need to drink 7 or more cups of fresh green tea per day for quite a long time.

Realistically, most people, especially westerners, aren’t going to drink that many cups of tea a day, and most of the teas that come in bottles at the grocery store are filled with sugar and additives and have very little EGCG. Even tea bags of green tea don’t contain high enough concentrations of EGCG and other green tea polyphenolic compounds to replicate the results found in the myriad of studies. You need about 200-300 mg of EGCG daily.

A Better Green Tea
Then along came GrenX, an innovative health company bent on giving consumers a practical method of gaining the benefits from green tea and EGCG. They’ve developed a proprietary concentrated green tea in powder form and in a variety of flavors that contains over 500 mg of polyphenols and 200 mg of EGCG per serving. But that’s not all. This antioxidant powerhouse also contains Noni Juice, Acia, Resveratrol (the antioxidant found in red wines and grape skins), and Pomegranate Extract.

And, they’ve made it easy and idiot proof. Each serving comes in an individual little packet. Just add it to 12-16 oz bottle of water or a glass of water, shake or stir, and viola, you have a tasty, low calorie (8), non-fat drink that brings you the life and health enhancing benefits of green tea. And when you add to that the other ingredients of known antioxidant superstars, you have a one stop shop beverage that can’t be beat.

You really do owe it to yourself to give this stuff a try. I drink it every day, so does my wife and once you try it, you will too.
